ABOUT THIS SITE
Welcome to RockyMountainSummits.com. This website contains photos and trip reports from my visits to the Rocky Mountains and beyond. This includes some of the state highpoints of the western United States (like Mount Rainier, Mount Hood, and numerous Colorado 14ers). Most of the trips are hiking and scrambling, but a few are rock and snow climbs. Information on this site ranges from trips up the 9 highest peaks in Idaho, "the 12ers", to short hikes that can be done by novices to the sport.

A lot of my hiking and climbing inspiration was
driven by Tom Lopez's book - Idaho: A Climbing Guide. You can purchase that book on Amazon |

Remember that hiking and climbing are dangerous activities. What may be easy to one climber may be difficult to another. Also remember that weather, snowfall, time, and chance can increase the difficulty of routes and put you at risk of injury. Be safe and aware of your surroundings at all times in the mountains. |
