Trip Report
I was in New Meadows visiting my daughter for Memorial Day weekend. I decided Monday morning that nobody would miss me if I snuck out early and tagged the top of the peak.
So I got up at 5:30am and was heading up the peak shortly after 6am. I initially carried snowshoes up the road, but put them on where I transitioned from the road to the west ridge. Honestly, the snow was so supportive, I didn't really need them. However, the traction they provided was nice.
It took me just over an hour to reach the summit. The sun had just came up and the lighting was very nice. I checked out the McCall area. New Meadows was also visible. Mountain ranges were all around me, including the Seven Devil range, Wallowas, Lick Creek range, etc... This is a really nice viewpoint for an area I'm not too familiar with.
I wanted to get back before I was missed, so I sped down the hill and was back at my daughter's place by 9am. Not bad to summit a nice looking peak like that and be back in less 4 hours!

Getting There
I drove about 1 mile past the large parking area for Brundage Mountain ski area. Depending on snow levels on Goose Creek Road, you could drive further than I did. In the winter, plowed access would mean you would have to start at the ski area.

Hiking Directions
Basically, I just followed the road until it met up with the west ridge of Brundage Mountain. The west ridge is fairly easy to navigate as the trees aren't that dense and it isn't that steep. I know a lot of people ski those same slopes.
